New Volunteer Debrief Notes 8/5/20

  • If people feel the need to work
    • Script advises "You do have the right to stay home from work since you've been instructed by the health department to quarantine. For the next 14 days, your employer cannot make you come to work, and under recent federal legislation, most employees have the right to paid sick leave or Pandemic Unemployment Assistance if they are told to quarantine by public health."
    • If people need note for return to work advise shift supervisor
      • MDHHS will contact the local health department to help people with employment issues
  • Call Info              
    • We can call up to three times a day
    • One voicemail per day-second and third call will be marked as no answer for the assessment with a note
    • If someone was called less than an hour ago it is a reque
  • Positive COVID-19 test
    • Case close/other
    • Local health department will conduct interview on positive COVID  cases and we do not need to contact trace  
  • Quarantine info
    • The information we provide is for the benefit of people, families and communities
      • Volunteers should not be aggressive with contacts

    • Helps provide access to food, access to a safe place to stay, utilities, unemployment or communicating with an employer, medication, health care, or their ability to care for a loved one or a pet

      • Can help find resources, help, and answer questions
  • Duplicate follow up
    • Local Health Department has called and now we are calling
      • When people get upset about duplicate calls
        • Be apologetic, sympathetic, and empathetic
        • If they allow us to follow up on symptoms opt into calls/text
        • If they do not want to follow up we can refuse the case
      • We just want a follow up about symptoms to keep their friends, family, and community safe

    • If unable to verify name/county
      • Case Close/other
  • Phone status
    • Offline will prevent incoming calls
    • Available allows inbound/outbound calling
  • Household contacts
      • Answer yes to for others in household
      • Will open new assessment for others in household
    • Add record
      • Adds note to multiple people in a household
      • Search contact name to add to record with notes
    • Submit an assessment and note for everyone in a household
