Volunteer Highlights
- A guy in the UP is quarantining and he said for his work he has to go out into the woods, and if necessary he could give us all the names of the deer he comes in contact with.
- We helped a gentleman use our recourses to get a test from home kit, because the nearest one was 60 miles away.
Questions and Answers
- The 15 minute exposure time: Is it consecutive 15 minutes or would it be different if it was spread apart?
- Concerned about school/ student contacts; Kids may not be around each other for more than 15 minutes at a time but they are surrounded and come in contact multiple times a day.
- As of right now, we really are not qualified to give an answer to that. It depends on the LHD and their recommendations.
- I mistakenly added some hours twice on the volunteer tracking site. can you delete them?
- Go to micontacttracingvollunteers.com- > Your Profile -> Time Tracking -> Select the shift opportunity and edit the hours you want to adjust
- Is that so many people this week are being told not to get tested unless they have symptoms, and so many are being told if they test negative to come back to work.
- Testing are coming back quicker, we want the to be tested, but it's up to you.
- If they get tested too soon, it will most likely be negative, so it's no worth going too soon.
- Try to encourage testing, and PCP follow up
- Should we check the critical infrastructure box if they work in one of those [Critical Infrastructure] industries?
- If the CI box is check that is probably why they think that, otherwise they have a right to stay home being told to quarantine by LPH.
- LHD are communicating different end dates than we have in TF; Why? What is the solution?
- Why: Because the system is so overwhelmed
- Solution: Escalate those to the Sups so we can send it over to MDHHS and the LHD
- Are Children/ Minors "high risk"?
- We are choosing not to mark children, teachers and college students as Institutional setting teachers because it denies them the ability to text
- Teens in a boarding school: We cannot speak with them, only College aged students away from home
- Is there SOMETHING that LHD can do better at indicating that a child is a minor besides leaving it blank?
- MDHHS is working on communicating a solution
- What happens to the assessment that I am working on when a call comes in and you loose that assessment?
- If it wasn't saved, it will be requeued.
- Best practice, if you know that you have a long note to leave, switch to offline immediately after the call.
- Additional unemployment benefits
- We should be directing people to go to Michigan.gov/mibridges to see what they are qualified for in their area.
- Volunteer mentioned "Regarding the unemployment, I have pointed a couple people to the Department of Labor page on michigan.gov (when asked)"
- Delta/ Escanaba end date discrepancies
- MDHHS is working on that with LHD, just continue to send contact ID's to SUPS so they can pass that along to MDHHS.
- Most have been updated to 10/1
- What do we recommend for how many days to get tested?
- Not before the 5th day; Speak to PCP first but generally 3-4 days before the end date.
- Families exposed by children who were exposed
- Families with Multiple HHM's Recommendation: Use your own discretion, try your best to limit spread.
- When you have a stressed out and scared parent: Listen, affirm, educate and encourage them to just do the best they can.
- When you hit save and next, does that also save what you corrected in the info tile?
- No, you need to save changes in the info tile on it's own if you make any changes to it.
