The CDC is considering shortening the quarantine period. Do we have any plans to adjust?
- CDC is still considering. When that decision is made, we will transition to those guidelines.
- We are waiting for official guidance and supporting data that supports the guidance.
- MDHHS may decide to not to follow these guidelines.
Does this change only effect quarantine or Isolation?
- So far, we have only heard about quarantine.
Why are we running out of contacts when new cases are on the rise?
- MDHHS tried to change the process to reach out to more people. We cut down on collecting information on HH contacts.
- We are training a lot more case investigators. They will be starting next Monday
Do you know what the ratio of contacts to case?
- November hit a high of 4: (it may be 2.5:1)
Do you think we need to shorten our scripts to handle more contacts?
- No, we should be following our scripts as normal.
If someone had covid-19. Would they need to quarantine if they came in contact within 90 days?
- They wouldn't need to if they don't show symptoms.
People seem to want a rapid test. Should we push people to the standard test?
- For contact tracing we recommend a diagnostic test.
- Testing (or lack thereof) could make a change in guidance less likely.
- It could be a challenge to the possible new guidance if it requires a test to use the 10 days guidance.
Is rapid testing a throat or nose swab?
- It can be. We should not get into any details with the contacts concerning testing types.
- The conventional and rapid nose throat tests are considered diagnostic.
- We want to exclude antibody tests.
- We don't have any data to tell us if a person with antibodies is immune, how long they might be. Or what strains of Covid-19 they be immune to.
What happens with a household that has a case isolating with it? Do we follow up?
- We do not. We only reach out to them once.
Are we halting onboarding volunteers or case investigations?
- Case investigations aren't taking volunteers
- We may be bringing on more people for volunteering in the next few weeks.
People we have been able to reach
