Friday, May 14, 2021 Debrief Notes
Meeting started: 12:53 pm
Reminders and updates:
- Make sure contacts are fully vaccinated 2 weeks prior from their contact start date.
- Note that they are not having any symptoms and feeling well.
Questions and Answers:
Q: West Michigan is not requiring students to quarantine. Are we keeping them in our system?
A: Try to keep them in our system. Mark refused if they do not want to be contacted. Recommend they follow the quarantine dates.
Q: How long does a person stay positive?
A: The virus can stay in their system for an extended time. We recommend they reach out to their LHD for further assistance.
Q: For those who were exposed to a positive case in the household and are marked presumed positive, how long will they stay in that status?
A: We would recommend them to reach out to their LHD or primary care physician.
Q: If we have a household of 4, will the system send a text to the number 4 times stating we are about to call them?
A: Yes, since there are 4 contacts in the household.
Q: Someone who returns back to work before their quarantine ends, are LHD's following up with them?
A: Yes
Q: Are volunteers supposed to still record their time attending the debrief in Galaxy Digital?
A: Yes, Peter will check for clarification.
Q: I had a mom say that they were told the kids could go back to school after a negative test on day 5 of quarantine.
A: If you get a situation like that, you can escalate it so we can have the LHD follow up with the school and provide guidance.
Q: Is it a district decision on whether or not to quarantine, not the school building? Also I heard from a Mom that in her district it was 3ft quarantine now instead of 6ft? Can districts make these detail determinations
A: In general, we are seeing local health departments giving more discretion to schools to set their own policies and procedures with quarantine, testing, etc.
Q: Tech question: why is queue empty so often these days? 8 times today, 7 yesterday
A: We haven't had as many contacts recently. So because of that the queue will often pause and reorganize contacts by priority.
