Winner of the $50 amazon giftcard for the week: Thomas Mccurdy!

  • Volunteers are loving the language line

School exposures:

  • parents are concerned, confused, frustrated.
  • every school is handling it in different ways
  • you're always welcome to let your supervisor know if the situation/guidance from schools seem concerning

Paid temp positions available:

  • 40 hours a week, volunteers will be emailed more information

Why are we asking for school information?

  • Schools were instructed to step up their reporting/gathering and sharing of cases/contacts, collecting this information will supplement that information as well
  • this helps LHDs to understand whether they are having other school contacts other than what they were already aware of
  • allows the LHD to dig into possible problematic schools that need to be addressed

How do we gather a contacts information?

  • when a person tests positive, they are called by the local health department and an interview is done where they gather contact information

Are we still recruiting volunteers?

  • yes, people who are interested can sign up on micontactracingvolunteers.com

Delay in reaching out:

  • generally because we did not get that persons information into traceforce until that day.
  • initial case investigation may take longer so that will delay when they are put into traceforce and we can call them

HH with a positive case and testing:

  • should we be asking everyone to test? Yes, always recommend it.
  • michigan.gov/coronavirustest has testing locations, may help with locating free/low cost testing sites
  • we may not be able to convince them to test, but at the very least just emphasize they need to quarantine during those days to keep the public safe

Differing monitoring dates:

  • if they feel the dates are wrong, please let your supervisor know
  • we will escalate this to the state and make sure the dates are accurate

Should contacts wear a mask in their home?

  • they do not have to if they are not showing any symptoms, but its always good to be safe
  • if they start showing symptoms, definitely recommend wearing a mask around the house with other members
